Johnny Reid Goes Higher With 3rd Artist of the Year Award at CCMAs
Johnny Reid put on a show at the 29th annual Canadian Country Music Awards on Monday at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, performing his latest hit and bringing home four trophies, including his third Male Artist of the Year award in four years.
Viberevolution attended the show, getting an up close peak at the winners and performances by the country’s biggest country stars, including Terri Clark, Gord Bamford, and Dean Brody. Emerson Drive got the audience moving with a performance of Let Your Love Speak before Gord Bamford sang a trio of singles, bringing his four year old daughter Paisley on stage to sing the end of the soft and loving My Daughter’s Father. Jimmy Rankin, the Roots Artist of the Year, presented Dean Brody with the Single of the Year Award for Trail in Life before Doc Walker and Luke Bryan each energized the crowd with songs paying tribute to “country girls”. Two-time Male Artist of the Year winner George Canyon then performed his new single “When Love Is All You’ve Got” with Richard Marx.

The night was capped by the legendary Michelle Wright - who had just been inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame the previous evening - presenting the Album of the Year Award to Dean Brody - also named Songwriter of the Year - before tremendous applause. Brody's awards were for the album and single of the same name. Paul Brandt then entertained the crowd with his single “Give It Away”, ending the night just as spectacularly as it started, with stars shining.
